My Story

I am exactly what my name is - a little baby boy in the body of a short, young adult, who is in urgent need of a forever home. Let me tell you my story. I was born on Easter Sunday in 2021. I was rescued as a tiny blind neonate when my mother was purposely run over by a driver while she was moving me across the street. She managed to drag herself, with me in her mouth, into someone's backyard after having her back broken, and I was found laying next to her dead body. I was only 5 days old. The Fur Real NYC folks took immediate action and got me to safety, and I was bottle raised in a home with a lot of cats, and meticulously looked after every step of the way. I was called "baby" from the start because, well that's what I was. And then the name just stuck! I was a slow learner in terms of eating on my own and with other things, and it was said that I was living up to my name, refusing to grow up for a long time. I grew up with two other little kittens who were rescued around the same time I was, and I had many feline friends, young and old, along with love and reassurance. Life was good. The human who was taking care of all of us said she wanted to keep all three of us new kittens because we were such good babies and she got us through so we'd survive, and she felt very close to us. But then she got really busy with running the rescue group. She went from being with us a lot of the time to being with us only overnight, to not seeing us at all. Sometimes she is only coming home once a day to feed us, then she has to leave to take care of so many other kitties who need care and need to be adopted. The home has become crowded and in disarray, so I can't even play and get proper exercise. One of the bigger boy cats who has lived there for many years started beating me up very badly several months ago. The human wasn't there to realize what was happening, but now it's all out in the open. I scream with terror to even see this cat anywhere near me, and I often hide for many hours until the human finally gets home to see us. I live in a state of constant fear and, in turn, take out my frustration on the other cats around me. I'm now both a bullying victim and a bully to others. The human admitted recently that she should do what she had originally intended to do - which was to find me, and the others who she saved around the time she took me in, a loving forever home with hoomans who can actually spend time with me, give me space to run around and play, and let me restart my life in a safe place where I can be free to live my life the way I was living it when I was smaller, before everything got really bad. I can honestly say I won't miss it here and I'm ready to go! I now spend my time alone behind a closed door in the kitchen for my safety. I hate being in there alone, but I am also safe in there, so I know it's the best place for me until I find a home. Now that the human told me there's a better life out there for me, I can't wait to discover it! If you have the perfect life for me that I've been dreaming of, give us a call and I'll pack my bags and be ready to go home with you - just say the word! **Bonus video of me: https://youtube.com/shorts/1GO_NUcox4w?feature=share
