My Story

Banjo is a beautiful gray & white tabby about 2 Year old. Banjo won’t give his heart to just anybody. He's is looking for a cat savvy family who has a heart as big as his! It’s been a journey for these kitties that arrived so traumatized to learn to trust and to feel comfortable. Banjo first started becoming my friend as I cleaned litter boxes. He would, and still does, rub on me and roll around looking all silly and cute as he solicits pet, rubs, & maybe a belly rub. He has graduated to seeking attention all over the house, sleeping close to me in bed, usually near my head, in the kitchen, as I sit on the couch (hasn’t made it to my lap yet because it is always busy with other kitties… so is biding his time) and he has become a cuddly bed buddy seeking lots of pets, rubs, tummy rubs and snuggles… rolling abound and upside down. Banjo is an active member of the household and it’s amazing to see how far he’s come … and it only took a little over a year to get here! Lol He enjoys interacting playtime with the cat wand/fishing pole, Ping-Pong balls, coils, material crinkle toys, small animal toys & small soft balls. He likes playing with siblings & friends, climbing cat trees to bird watch and sunbath. All the kitties are used to living in a busy environment with three big dogs, siblings, and foster friends all with different personalities, all whom I lovingly call booby traps. All the kitties do great but would appreciate and absolutely benefit from more individual attention in a quieter home with cat savvy people and a cat friend or two.. and even a dog. Banjo likes to be close and can be handled when caught but that isn’t something I do unless I need too… still waiting for him to deem me worthy of not only his love, but all of his attention too just like his siblings did! Initially Banjo (and his siblings) will understandably be a little aloof and independent for a few days or weeks +/- Given lots of attention and time they will warm up. Banjo is looking for a pet loving/savvy family of his own who is willing to gain his trust, and most importantly his heart! Banjo (and his siblings, Harper and Mandolin) have always been with other kitty friends and may like to live with a kitty friend or two (and maybe a dog) but may also like being the Prima Donna too! (His brother Zeither did!) They are all good with cat friendly dogs and cats. Remember TWO kitties are better than one! Adopt a second kitty at 50% off and also adopt one of their siblings or friends! First picked up, and held, by an old couple inside their 400sf travel trailer for months but couldn't keep them so brought them to a shelter were they were understandably terrified and freaked, so deemed unadoptable. They were spayed, neutered, and brought to me underweight do to the stress of being in the shelter (two lost more than a pound each) and with upper respiratory infections. Understandably it took time to gain their trust & friendship. Zither warmed up the quickest and was adopted after a few months with me and adjusted quickly to a new home with a dogs. Harper was the second one to become my friend and is super silly, friendly and absolutely loves to cuddle with his favorite place being in bed where he is super silly and rolls over for belly rubs and will often end up sleeping on his back up against me. He also will seek my lap... when it's not busy. He loves attention everywhere. Mandolin is super friendly and absolutely loves to cuddle with her favorite place being in bed or my lap... when it's not busy. She loves and DEMANDS attention everywhere! Banjo will be very careful with who he gives he whole heart too!!! He is still a bit insecure, careful & shy... but is friendly and becoming more and more attention seeking… his favorite place to seek attention is still mostly when I'm cleaning the litter boxes... I know that is crazy but honestly all but his siblings became my friends while I was cleaning litter boxes lol he now seeks a lot more attention all around the house. In the kitchen, on the couch… waiting for my lap to be free… and he has started to really be attention seeking in bed and lying next to me and even getting belly rubs!!!! He is still super shy/careful and will do so much better in a home without so much competition for my attention. Banjo is a beautiful gray & white tabby under 2 Year old. Banjo won’t give his heart to just anybody. He's is looking for a cat savvy family who has a heart as big as his! Adopt a second kitty at 50% off and also adopt one of their siblings or friends!
