Calling all FeLV+ cat lovers! Are you looking for the perfect little sweetheart of a cat? Introducing Brooke! Brooke came to TCR after she was found as a stray. Brooke is a super sweet girlie who perpetually looks a bit surprised and startled - those big, wide dinner plate eyeballs are just part of her very endearing aesthetic. Clocking in at less than 7lbs, Brooke may be a small cat, but there is a lot of love and endless biscuit-making power in those dainty paws. Brooke's favorite things are snuggling in laps, treats and snacks, and flopping over to get hard at work in the biscuit factory. She is currently being fostered with another FeLV+ cat, Skye, and the two get along like gangbusters. Brooke and Skye both are a bit shy at first, but with a little love and patience, they are sure to come out of their shells in no time. Brooke and Skye could be adopted together, as solo kitties, or to homes with other FeLV+ cats. We think that either one of them would do fine with older, respectful kiddos who can be patient at first. Brooke would thrive best with an adopter willing to start her off in one small room in their home, until she is comfortable and ready for more space. Brooke is estimated to be a little over a year old. She has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV-/FeLV+ (progressive). This chronic illness doesn't currently affect Brooke's daily life much; however, the FeLV virus may eventually affect her health and lifespan, as FeLV impairs the cat's immune system. Becoming established with a vet supportive of treating an FeLV+ cat, controlling secondary infections, and treating other illnesses as they arise is essential to maintaining an FeLV+ kitty.
