Garfield

ADOPTED!! Garfield is a Medium Longhair Orange Neutered Male. He is 4 years old in 2004, and has spent all his life in the same home. It is presently unknown to this writer why he was taken from his home... I will post this info as it becomes available. This beautiful cat favors one side of his head... in his photos, you can see the one eye appears to be knocked out of alignment... It could be that he has been struck, but we are not informed of this incident. It is also reported that he does not like being picked up. Many cats are like this... they like attention and affection, but being held is just "not their thing". But... look at this poor little cat! If only he could tell us what has really happened to him. At first approach by strangers, he is , understandably, afraid and pensive. But with gentle talking and patience, he warms up and feels more secure, and is more open to being touched... gently. It is the nature of these big orange guys to be a little independent, but very loving, with a calm demeanor. He has not been in the shelter very long, and already the sweetness inside him is showing through his traumatic experience. Garfield probably should not be in a home with young children. We are not sure how he would be with dogs, but he seems to be adapting well to the company of other cats, and uses a litterbox. Please come see him, and maybe you will find room in your heart and home for a lifetime friend... a big orange friend who needs stability and love.
