* Social, affectionate, & playful, but skittish * OK with other cats with proper intros * Best in quieter home without young kids Hi, I’m Jinx! Say it with me now…JINX! Haha! Gotcha! I’m a mysterious and mischievous 5yr old lady wrapped into a unique, rotund ball of fun! I’m on the lookout for a patient and understanding family who can appreciate all my quirks! You see, I’ve felt like I’ve been jinxed my whole life. I was a stray, living on the streets with my baby kittens. A single, working mom. Now that’s tough! A nice lady found me, found homes for my babies, and let me stay in her barn. As you can imagine, given the circumstances, I was a bit spicy so I wasn’t always nice to the other cats that lived in the barn. Then, I found out I have asthma, too! Can you believe it?! So the nice lady took me inside to give me medicine to make me feel better. I already had a bad reputation with the barn cats, but I really loved living inside. She decided to reverse the curse that’s been following me and help me find a loving family of my very own! When I first arrive at a new place or meet new people, I might run away and hide a lot, but one look into my golden, enchanting eyes and you’ll be smitten! It’s best if I start out in my own space until I get to know you. Once I get more comfortable, I’d love to hang out with you on the couch watching a movie or reading a good book! I still spook easily, but I’ll come back once I know it’s safe. If you brush me, I’ll be your best friend forever! I’ve been told I have a classic case of “tortitude”. I might hiss or swat at other cats when I first meet them, but with slow and proper introductions, I’ll drop my feisty demeanor and become a playful companion. I LOVE to play with toy mice and balls and am an expert at zoomies. Which is great for my continued weight loss journey. I’m still trying to drop some of this baby weight, so a family that will help maintain my diet and exercise regimens would be great (even though I want all the snackies)! I would thrive in a quiet, calm home with a family that understands my skepticism. I could happily live with another playful and respectful cat, but I would also enjoy being the sole queen of my castle. I don’t like to be picked up and startle easily, so I would prefer no young children at this time. Please be patient with me and I will show you what an amazing companion I can be! Oh and that asthma thing…it’s not a big deal. It’s been awhile since I’ve had an attack. I will come with my supplies just in case and our adoption coordinators explain everything to you.
