Lorenzo is extraordinarily beautiful, and he is completely unaware that his appearance is literally show-stopping.
Although Lorenzo does seem to have an awareness that the device of flattening his ears, accompanied by a fixed stare, is off-putting enough to deflect any potentially uncomfortable social inter-action, the truth is that Lorenzo finds most social interaction uncomfortable, and prefers the company of family and select friends. The head count of either faction is small.
But those who number as Lorenzo's family and friends find him to be a wonderful fellow. His chief ally and confidante is a tuxedo cat named Dwight, with whom he grew up and has always lived in quiet companionship and complete accord.
Their collegial relationship is endearing, and we feel that it would be in their mutual best interest to be placed together.
If Lorenzo's relationship to most of the world seems formal, it is not indifferent, nor really formal in the true sense of that word. He is terribly curious about all that happens around him, and watches with keen interest, his beautiful, round blue eyes following every nuance. He is a long-bodied cat, and spends much of his time languidly arranged on his hammock, watching intently.
He is fastidious in his house manners and his own personal grooming, and although he appears completely self-possessed, Lorenzo is actually rather timid; it was a great act of courage to accept petting when he was a kitten. It is an act that he will now initiate, a behavior that he became emboldened to try after watching Dwight's head-butting overtures.
And if Lorenzo never becomes a lap cat, he is still a very companionable cat who enjoys lying about and being present with the humans and dogs and cats who reside in his foster home. Although he and Dwight have always maintained a separatist position - not hostile in any way, simply separate - it is only because they are strangely and innocently content with that arrangement.
Lorenzo and Dwight, and their sweet eccentricities, could bring delight, affection, and great humor to an adoptive home.
