Louise is a wonderful senior cat of about 12 years young. Her previous family was an elderly couple who took very good care of Louise and all her siblings and friends. They were all spayed and neutered. When the couple was moved to a nursing home the cats were left to fend for themselves. They found a good Samaritan’s back door where they discovered a dependable food source. Louise and her companions came on a regular basis and so always had full tummies. In 2008 Louise developed a noticeable limp. Upon closer inspection, a large cyst was found on the bottom of her front left foot. It was about the size of a cherry, red, seeping blood and was pushing through her pad.
The good Samaritan paid surgery to remove the cyst and Animal Rescue Connections accepted Louise into its adoption program. The good Samaritan took her as a foster and lucky Louise has been living inside this past winter. She is healed and you’d never know there was a problem with her foot.
Being a senior, Louise eats and sleeps away most days. She's not really interested in playing. She was skittish at first, but she was left alone to come around at her own speed and she is used to being inside with human company. Now foster Mom can pick her up and Louise soon relaxes and now loves to be held close. It took awhile to get her to this point but she is worth it. Once relaxed, she purrs and head butts your face. She also likes to sleep in bed with foster Mom and cuddles up close to her legs. She has been a joy to foster and is loving and appreciative. We have no doubt that with a little work and patience she will warm up and be as loving
to you as she has been with us. A quiet atmosphere would be best for her. She would do fine in a home as an only cat.
