My Story

Michele is a domestic shorthair who was originally brought into our care in 2017 as a baby and was adopted but then, suddenly returned this May. Michele has had a rough time since coming back due to being so attached to her previous owner, she has given us a run for our money while trying to socialize her! She is VERY growly and hissy toward strangers and if she gets too overstimulated she does tend to swat at you to back away. These are all signs of fear and uncertainty.. in no way is Michele trying to be aggressive.. she is just learning to trust and open up to other people! We have seen significant progress since she has come back and instead of hiding all day, she has started to love to greet people by screaming at them through the door! You may have noticed already but, Michele is extremely over weight and this causes her a lot of pain to her joints which is another reason why she acts grumpy most of the time. Her adopter will need to stay commited to her weight loss journey after adoption to ensure she lives a long, healthy, and comfortable lifestyle! Her room does stay locked due to staff not being 100% comfortable with letting people in who don't understand her behavior anedbody language, as we are still trying to figure it out ourselves. If you are serious about getting to know her and potentially taking her home and giving her a new chance at life, please ask a staff member more about her! If you are interested in meeting Michele, please submit an application at www.valleyanimal.org At Valley Animal Center our mission is to unite dogs and cats with loving people. Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: White Age: 6yrs 10mths 3wks Animal has been Spayed
