Papa Bear - Lonely in foster care too long

Papa Bear is one of a kind. A real talker, a big handsome face, big meaty head, ridiculously outgoing and friendly, not a self-conscious bone in his body. He was found in Orange NJ on a block that had literally dozens of unneutered cats with access to only meager food at a couple of houses. We got the information that he had been kicked out of a house on that block and then left behind when the people moved. Papa was the only cat known by everyone, and notorious on the block. Partly because of his big big personality, fearless friendliness and big talk, but also because he fathered a large number of babies on both sides of the street. It got to the point that he couldn't keep up with child support payments, and he turned himself in. He's ready to settle down and just be the king of a nice cozy home. Very beautiful markings, plush shiny coat. A nice big boy and very fit. Not fat or thin -- just right! He hasn't had access to all the amenities in foster care, so we can only imagine how he will relish your good company, cat trees, laps, bedtime. He is really ready to move right in. Sadly he is in a room by himself because there is no other foster home or space for him. He is positive for FIV. They estimated 8 years old when he got neutered in 2021 but that seems a tad high, based on his excellent condition. He is NOT fond of other boy cats and it seems he'd be happy as the center of attention, or feel more relaxed with a lady cat (as a real ladies' man might). He has had thorough dental work recently so likely won't need that again any time soon or ever -- our vet is top-notch. His bloodwork is also good. Papa is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready for a real home. if interested, please email [email protected]
