My Story

PEANUT was found as a stray. This scruffy little female has apparently learned to cope on the streets and was not at all sure about being confined with all these other cats. One of the volunteers called PEANUT "the sweetest ball of sass!" But she has slowly started to insert her place in the room and wants to take charge when new visitors come in. She is very vocal when she wants attention, but in order to pet her you must approach her from the sides, Never from above or below. And she Does Not want to be picked up! Who knows if she was abused and tossed out, or perhaps was injured at some point and may have some residual discomfort. Or she may be sensitive about sudden movements or what she perceives as an attack. As she has grown more comfortable with us, PEANUT has shown that she does like ear scratches, along with pets. She also likes to chase and play with toys. She loves wet food although she can be a messy eater. And she also loves treats. Since she is so tiny she doesn't have to worry about her waistline so she will eat all the treats she can get. We do not know her opinion of dogs, but we are sure she has one, as PEANUT has opinions about everything in her world. Given she has a BIG personality in her small package, it might be best if she were an only pet. She would probably be fine with older children, as long as they do not insist she cuddle or play unless it is her idea. This beautiful little lady seems to have had a rough life, but she has decided to make the best of it, on her terms. She needs a home who will accept her on her own timetable. Once she feels trust and is comfortable with the stability of her new life, Miss PEANUT may forget the fear and discomfort she experienced on her own and start to live her best live ever and forever! She more than deserves that chance!
