Peanut Butter

A volunteer writes: Peanut Butter(aka Kitty) reminds me of my cat Bella, a chunky mama who as years went by and her weight climbed up, decided not to groom herself anymore and eliminate in other places than her litter box. I am grooming her daily(as like anybody, I like a clean and mats-free kitty) despite her vehement protests and she does use a very large litter box with one low wall. Carrier aversion, Bella is a pro at it but Gabapentin took the fight out of her...which made our veterinarian happy. Crankiness..we have found our ways around it as she is our family member who can be quite annoying at times but very loving too. Weight loss certainly with smaller portions and wet food only could also be attempted. Sounds easy but it is really not or 100% successful.. It is just that Peanut Butter like prickly Bella appears to be a very endearing gal. She is obviously lost at the care center, sitting at the edge of her kennel and coming on my lap when I open her door. She appreciates petting, leans, purrs and closes her eyes when I pet her head. Indeed her coat needs a good brushing and it should be groomed when Peanut Butter is more acquainted and trusting of us at the care center. We all hope that an experienced adopter will visit Peanut Butter, fall in love with her, understand her issues, feel comfortable dealing with them and take her home(preferably a quiet setting, child free) as a beloved pet for many years to come.
