She originally came into our rescue program as a very scared young cat that had been found as a stray and rescued from a local animal control where she was at risk of euthanasia. Pebbles was unsure about people and was tentative to trust us. Pebbles was very nervous in her new surroundings at our busy rescue. She spent most of her day hiding in her bed or under her blankets. Pebbles had started to learn to trust us and that we meant her no harm. We placed her in one of our loving foster homes to continue to build her trust and to work on her socialization. According to her foster, although she is still shy, when she trusts you, she will seek out pets and enjoys chin and belly rubs! She does not like to be held and will still run to hide if she hears a loud noise or if her foster moves too quickly. The adopter that gives this girl a loving home will need to understand she is a work in progress - she is getting more comfortable with love from humans every day but will need patience. Earning the love and trust of a shy cat like Pebbles will be an incredibly rewarding experience. She needs a hero. Pebbles loves to play and really likes other cats - she would do great in a home with another confident kitty to help build her confidence and make the adjustment to a new home easier. We are hoping to find an understanding and patient adopter with a quiet home that will continue to teach her about love and will give her time to adjust to a new living situation. She will be a loyal and devoted companion once she feels safe. All NAWS cats are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines.
