***Staff thinks I will be ready by mid July. Petunia is an absolute love. She adores humans and will climb in your lap for all the attention. She prefers to give and get affection from her human, before she will eat. She is a bit of a sensitive kitty and will need ample time to adjust to a new home. She needs a small quiet space to start off, as the big world and sounds stress her out. She is a bit particular about her food and too much stress may cause her to go on a hunger strike. So a slow introduction into a new environment would be best. She did great with small children, but appears to not like other cats and would prefer to be your one and only. If you are looking for a cat that will give you all her love and affection, she would be a perfect fit.*** I am not currently at the shelter because I'm growing big and strong in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when Im ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-473-1741; you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed on an animal. Once I am old enough to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we arent able to visit while Im in the foster home as its a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. We want to be healthy for our new life together!
