***AT SHELTER***
“All you need is faith, trust, and a little pixie dust.” —Tinkerbell
Welcome, Pixie the cat! Walt Disney’s famous mantra suits this gorgeous tabby girl well as she adjusts to shelter life. Pixie arrived with some fellow felines from Quebec, all named for mythical creatures. This gray, white, and brown beauty’s name was inspired by her enchanting green eyes and adorable pointy ears.
Pixie was timid at first, but warmed up to volunteers once she was shown some affection with the back-scratcher. She relaxed into gentle touch on her chin and cheeks, visibly becoming calmer, and eventually began enjoying pets by hand. Pixie is learning to trust; she even makes biscuits to request more affection! We suspect that this sweet girl has a lot of love to offer now that she has started to recover from her stressful past. We are still getting to know Pixie, so we aren’t yet sure how she would feel about sharing a home with other animals.
Pixie is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans. She is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people. There have been many successful graduates from this program, but potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Pixie along this journey. It should be noted that while some skittish cats might remain reserved, others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways. A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Pixie with a successful transition to her forever home.
Are you ready to be sprinkled with pixie dust? Why not come by the shelter and meet Pixie today? She might just be the magical force you’ve been wishing for.
