Pokey Girl

Pokey Girl and Scooter were born to a "stray" and have been well cared for by their caretaker. She kept them warm and fed but living in a garage, which isn't where they want to call home. They are sweet and looking for a real home now. Scooter was adopted a while back, and Pokey Girl is still looking for her family. She adjusted to the Kool Katz room, one of the adult cat rooms at Paws, but she didn't seem really happy there. We're a free roam shelter, but we have cages with beds in them if the cats want a little "me time." She spent a lot of time napping in one of the cages, and never came out to greet visitors or play much. She started to put on weight, so we moved her to our lobby (where we put our cats that need to lose a pound or two!). We are all astounded at the transformation in her personality. She comes out to greet visitors to the shelter when they walk in the door, and she absolutely loves to play. She'll probably lose weight now just because of the increased activity. She also loves to be petted and brushed as well!
