Romeo

Meet Romeo, a cat with an endearing peculiarity that sets him apart from our other cats, a lack of teeth. At a vet appointment, Romeo's gums were found to be inflamed and red (at such a young age), showing a potentially serious underlying issue. After extensive examination and consultation with veterinarians and veterinary dentists, it was concluded that Romeo's body was experiencing a severe reaction to the buildup of dental plaque, which required a partial mouth extraction to ensure a pain-free and manageable life. This procedure is scheduled for March 4th 2024and will entail the removal of over 90% of Romeo's teeth. Though this may sound daunting, it is in his best interest and will guarantee a future free of discomfort and pain. As we prepare for this significant event, we are ever grateful for the care and expertise of our trusted veterinarians, who have provided us with invaluable guidance and support throughout this journey. We are confident that Romeo will emerge from this procedure with his trademark charm intact, ready to embark on a new chapter of his life - one that is sure to be filled with love, friendship, and plenty of snacks. Romeo does have quite the food obsession which is ironic considering his condition. You will easily be able to build a strong bond with him using treats and Churu sticks. Because of this though we do usually feed Romeo separately from other cats, as he likes to try and sneak in mouthfuls he's not supposed to take! I imagine as he settles in he may learn to respect what is his bowl and what is not. Romeo is also a very playful and interactive kitten. He has formed strong bonds with some of our cats and does not mind hanging around any of the dogs. He would do great in almost any home, but wouldn't mind being a spoiled only child. We do not believe his teeth will affect what he can eat. Lots of animals who get mouth extractions will still eat dry food, but we will talk to any potential adopters about options.
