FIV is a non-fatal immune disorder that cannot spread to humans, does not require any medication, and does not have any real impact on a cat's lifespan. It just means they can't fight of germs quite as well, so an indoor-only lifestyle is a must and it should be considered if you plan to bring other non-FIV cats into the home... BUT AGAIN -- we don't 100% know if he is in fact FIV+ as he has tested negative and positive several times.
