My Story

Do you like pretty cats? Well, 2 year old Sheba is definitely easy on the eyes! However, this gorgeous lady is still quite undersocialized, so she's looking for a special understanding home where her owners will accept her as-is and not pressure her into becoming an outgoing housecat. Sheba isn't aggressive at all, but she is fearful of people and may never be the type get too close to her humans. However, she has been petted multiple times while in her foster home, but only while distracted when eating canned food (she loves wet food and treats - definitely the way to her heart!). The funny thing is, she REALLY enjoys being petted gently (especially at the base of her tail - she lifts her butt in approval), but once she "realizes" she's being touched, she runs away just out of reach. So, as of now, she's a "look, but don't touch" kind of cat, but has no problem sharing the same space with humans (again, so long as she's arm's length away). But we think in time (with LOTS of food to motivate her), she could become a lot more social and friendly. Sheba loves other cats (though not immediately when first meeting them) and would do best in a home with another friendly feline since they give her the confidence boost to come out into the common areas of the home. So if you're looking for a beautiful cat who will just kind of lurk in the background, she's the one! And who knows - maybe she'll become a lot friendly once in a regular household where she gets to interact with her humans more often.
