I'm a skinny sorta feller, won't really take up a lot of room in your lap or your house. I'm also calm and mild mannered. I'd go so far as to say that I haven't got an aggressive bone in my bony ol' body. I will give you a head butt, just to say hi, but I'd actually prefer to sit in yer lap. I'm 12 years old, it's sad but true. Ya might wonder jes' how I survived so long on my own. Me too!
So there ya have it. That's me. Slim.
UPDATE From “Fat City”! Well, dad gum it anyway! A fellar like me ain't gon' appeal to just any ol' soul, what with my bony yeller body an all, and then what happens?? I go and get me a case a diabetes! That made it even more confounding to be in this here shelter (even though the wimmen folk always made sure I got fussed over plenty!!)
So anyhow, I got me a chance to go into foster care and by golly, I took it! Did me good, too! I met my good friend and pardner, Toffee, there and since that feller's got diabetes, too, we had something in common to ponder late at night after chores!
Yep, we were just two old bony guys talkin' bout the old days when we roamed the prairies of this here town! Anyway, ol Toffee and I started in on some special diabetic vittles and some special diabetic concoction called Insulin and before ye knew it, we weren't so bony anymore and our fur turned all soft and silky just like in those fancy-dancy TV commercials! HOOO-WEEE!!!!!
That thar Toffee is darn near big as a bull now and I'm well on my way! Handsome don't even begin to describe us! Our diabetes is under control and we're doing great and we been havin' a notion we might like to get ourselves adopted! Take a gander at us and it's plain to see, we're pretty darned irresistible! Oh, lets just face it--We're The Best In The West!
And even if ya'll can't take us in for the long haul, how bout having us over fer a spell as your fosters? We really like where we are now, 'cept for one thing. . .we gotta share our corral with all sorts of other kitty-type critters!
Handsome honchos like us don't feel like sharin' so much all the time, you know? And since we need special vittles, it's hard for us to mosey around with them that eat regular grub!
You won't meet any kitties more polite and lovin' this side of the Rocky Mountains! So, can we bunk with you?????????????
Send inquiries by "Kitty Express" (i.e. [email protected]) and we'll meander on over and you'll get a lovin' you won't soon forget!
Love, Slim (Who's not so slim anymore. . . .!)
Please allow me to introduce you to my Pardner, Toffee @ http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=6121261
He's a city slicker, but I couldn't ask for a better friend!
Ain't Life Grand??? If'n you read the story 'bout me 'n Toffee, then you know this past year's been full of ups 'n downs fer me! I was a skinny, sickly feller with nary a friend in this here world.
But after I landed here at C.A.T., they got me all fixed up with medicine and good food and introduced me to my friend, Toffee! Me 'n ol' Toffee been together for quite some time, but now it's time fer me to mosey on over to my new Furr-Ever Home On The Range!
Ya see, I'm one of the lucky ones who don't need that insulin concoction no more! Ain’t needed any for several months now and I been doin' just wunnerful! Gotta tell ya, don't miss them needles one iota!
So like I was sayin', I'm lookin' fer a home and I'm hopin' it'll be sooner rather n’ later. I'm an older feller, though you woudn't know it t’ look at me, but just the same, I got me a hankerin’ to git out thar and show you what a loyal, loving friend you'd have in me!
My foster Mom gives me high marks in handsome-ness & sweetness! She calls me her little "basket case" cause that's where I like to spend a lot of my time these days! My manners are darn good, too!
My one downfall is that sometimes I get a bit threatened by other feline fellers and might take off after 'em cause I git to thinkin' they're threatenin' "my" home. I seem to git along better with the lady kitties!
Thank You Kindly for reading my story! Now what say you and I ride off into the sunset together? Just you and me? It'll be Grand fer sure!
Love, Slim
