Steve has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) which means that their immune system is weakened and they is more prone to infections and other types of illnesses than they otherwise would be. There is no cure for FIV; however, many cats live for years without ever developing any full-blown disease and enjoy a great quality of life. FIV cannot be spread to humans but it can be spread to other cats via bite, so they needs to find a home where they are the only cat, or with other FIV positive cats. They also need to strictly be an indoor-only cat. If you have room in your home and heart for a positively AWESOME cat, they just may be the one for you!
