My Story

Hello, my furiends! The world of country music has been rocked...yes, furiends..The Country Kitts are here; they are adorable, affectionate little lightning bugs of love AND available for adoption. These 12-week-old kitties are the life of the honky tonk party, full of playful energy and kitten curiosity! Are you looking for a furry little partner to boot-scootin' boogie with? Here they are: Brooks - male tabby, and just as sweet as pie! Chesney - male, black and white, as playful as he is lovable! Keith - male, black and white, look out world, Keith is here! Cash *ADOPTED* - male, all black, walks the line between adorable and extreme cuteness, the perfect lap cat, often giving up playtime for cuddle time!(please note, little Cash will require surgery to remove his eye) Aldean - male, black and white, with this boy any ol' barstool, couch, windowsill, blanket, will do! Lainey *ADOPTED* - female, calico, with a heart like a truck; there are a few things a human should know...Lainey is pure love and always up for a cuddle! The Country Kitts must return to Scruffy Paws for future vetting; therefore, out-of-state applications require excellent vet references. The adoption fee is set at $250 for each kitten. Please note that Cash will need to have eye surgery. Priority will be given to applications looking to adopt a pair of kittens. If adopting a single kitten, another cat should be in the home. Thank you for being so interested in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If you see this post, we still accept applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). Please refrain from emailing us regarding availability. All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies, and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian. Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters. Our adoption process includes the following: 1. Adoption Application To be considered for this cat(s) or kitten(s), you MUST complete an adoption application: - Through our website (preferred) at www.scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/ - Email a copy to [email protected] - Drop off a hard copy to either of our partner PetSmart locations (Johnston or North Smithfield) - Mail a hard copy to Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue at 2944 Post Rd. Warwick, RI 02886 2. Veterinary Reference Please call your vet beforehand to permit the release of records to our adoption team. Out-of-state adoptions typically require an exceptional veterinary reference and are at the discretion of our adoption team. 3. Proof of Home Ownership OR Landlord Approval If renting, the landlord's contact information must be provided so our adoption team can seek approval. 4. Home Visit Please make sure you are located in our vicinity. We are based in Warwick, RI. Due to COVID-19, we are currently conducting virtual home visits until further notice. **Please note: Our volunteers try their hardest to contact every applicant in a timely manner but are often overwhelmed with a high volume of applications. Please allow up to two weeks for a response. We ask you to please be considerate and refrain from sending multiple follow-up emails or submitting duplicate applications.
