The General has been in our rescue since 2019. He was on the euthanasia list as an owner surrender because the shelter staff were told he was aggressive. He is not. He is actually deaf and has some different mannerisms. He does not like to be picked up/held/restrained in anyway. He does however love to snuggle. He is a lap cat and can never be too close. He loves pets and he loves food. He only eats canned food and he eats a lot. Around 4 cans a day. Oh….why does he only eat canned food? Well, he is toothless. He also has a constant sniffle sound. He gets allergy meds snuck in his food twice a day. He is also FIV positive. Yes he can be around other cats and he is. He loves other cats and they love him. He does remind them who the boss is though:) Because he has a lower immune system he is also given lysine twice daily with his allergy pill. It’s a powder. All is mixed in his food. The General is a WONDERFUL cat. We are so grateful we got to him when we did. Oh, he loves the outside….but he will attempt to take off so you gotta stay close by and scoop him up quick!!!! Or just open a window for him. His foster mom has a catio and he enjoys safe outside time there. He is aged at 11 years old, but this is a guess. He has a lot of life left in him and we know he will make someone very happy. We believe he will be fine with kids….as long as kids understand boundaries and respect for animals, but older kids may be best.
