My Story

Thunder lived in a home with a gal with too many cats. So Waverly Pet Rescue helped out by taking Thunder in. She has been to the vet, is up-to-date on shots, spayed, FIV negative, and living in a volunteer home.

Thunder is about 18-months-old. She is a beautiful cat and very friendly. She is playful and gets along with all the other kitties. Thunder is very loving and loves to be held and cuddled every chance she can get. She likes to play with anything that moves and sleeps with me and the other 2 kittens at night.

Thunder has a sister listed on here named Lightning if anyone would like to adopt 2 cats. It is not required though. These kitties would do ok in homes on their own too! Thunder and Lightning were born during a storm and that is where their names come from.

3/18/08: Thunder will need a home who can start her off on one small room until she gets used to you. She can be shy and scared at first but does warm up quickly. She also loves the scratching post so should have one of those in her new home.

Due to neglect in her past, Thunder gets a kitty cold ever couple or months or so. She will just need meds from the vet and it clears right up. She is FIV negative and our vet says it is from poor living conditions before we got her.

11/16/09 UPDATE: Lighting is about 2-1/2-years old now!

Will someone please give Thunder a forever home and adopt her? $20.00 adoption fee. (we have had her since December 2007, lower cat adoption fee and a sponsor to cover part of the adoptiomn fee so we can try and finally get her a real home)

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501 C 3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter yet. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to Email Waverly Pet Rescue at the bottom of this page. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.

Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each cat we take in. $150 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the kitty had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office. (Ear mite treatments $15, medicine for kitty cold and runny eyes $20, Distemper and rabies shots $25, Flea treatment $25, Spay / Neuter $65 - $120, etc, etc)
