Since the World Cup had just started, the foster parents named the litter the FIFAs and gave the kittens soccer-related names. Vuvu and Zela were named after the vuvuzela horns that provide the soundtrack for all of the World Cup games. Like many kittens her age, Vuvu is a "foot-monger" who gravitates toward shoes and feet. If you're standing barefoot and feel something warm and furry, it's probably Vuvu getting comfortable on your foot. If you leave an empty flip-flop nearby, Vuvu will take it for a test-drive.
While Vuvu is the smallest of the FIFAs, she can keep up with Bafana at the dinner table. And though she isn't particularly vocal, Vuvu purrs loudly when picked up and held.
You can read more about Vuvu's adventures in foster care at 50kittens.com.

You can save animals like Vuvu by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save cats before they are euthanized at the shelters, so that they have more time to find a permanent family. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering animals.
