My Story
Akela has been adopted by a wonderful family whose corgi x JRT recently passed away. They have a rescue yorkie for Akela to be pals with, a doggie door (Akela's favourite invention ever), and 4 humans to love her.
Akela had a hopeful home, but the current shar pei in the home did not appreciate the new addition, so Akela is back on that search for a home where everyone loves her. She is now 3 months old, affectionate and very sweet. She really loves playing outside, and is currently living with cats, dogs, and lots of kid visitors. New pics coming soon!
Akela is one of 4- 9 week old border collie x shar pei puppies. Their mom was a purebred border collie, their dad was a purebred shar pei. They were born in a chicken coup in Oliver BC. Their "breeder" was planning on drowning them, but a kind neighbour stepped in and raised them. They are now being fostered in the Lower Mainland while waiting for their new homes. They have been socialized with dogs, cat, and kids. They are a little bit shy but very sweet. They are all now vaccinated, dewormed, delfead and paper trained.
Akela is the bigger girl. She is balsy like Baloo . She has the most shar pei like build, with shar pei ears and a curled up tail. She has a short-to- medium length hair, black with a white chest, and white on her 2 front paws, with white toes on rear paws.
Mowgli and Akila - they are both very playful, they will team up with the others to be bullies, but if Baloo or Shanti don't instigate things, they will leave well enough alone! They very much have the same personalities so far, and are very tight with each other. It's pretty much a sure bet to find them stuck together like glue, whether it be in play or sleep. They are always laying on each other.
Please research both breeds before applying for these pups, and then impress us with your knowledge. They could grow-up with the personality of either, or the best or worst helath and temperment combinations of both breeds. You may wind up with a couch-potato, or a high-energy dog, or many ponts inbetween. Due to their breed mix we will not place these pups in homes with children under 10 years of age.
