Angel

Angel is a senior female (8-10 yrs), spayed, treated for heartworm but has a small heart murmur. She was severely burned in several places, had broken ribs, massive bruising and popped out a litter of pups when caught by ACS. She has been with me for several years now. Her hair grew in beautifully but her skin is very sensitive in the burn areas so gentle grooming is needed. She is good with kids (though we always protect her from toddlers), other medium to large dogs but not small or timid dogs, cats if supervised (she will chase and kill a stray cat but lives with my cats) and is good with most adults, though initially shy. She likes men especially but cuddles with everyone. She is very well housetrained, often able to wait 14 hours without an accident. She does not kennel well but will tolerate kenneling for short periods of time. I give her complete run of my house at all times; she has never had an accident. She does not chew, get in trash or any other common bad habits. Angel did nip the Cable guy, twice, finding him threatening for some reason. I believe it was the utility belt, possibly related to her abuse. She has not done anything like that since the first few months I had her. She does not bite when treated for injury. She is extremely sensitive to discipline, needing only a look, perhaps a “Shhh” to catch her attention. She can be directed with a snap of the fingers and a point. All commands provided are quiet and non-threatening as she is easily overwhelmed by such actions. She withdraws if one yells or appears violently angry, even if it is not directed at her. Angel would love a home with lots of love, cuddling, walks (she tends to be plump) and even traveling as she loves to ride in the car. Her favorite pastime is cuddling but she sleeps on the floor at night on a dog bed. Though an older dog, Angel loves to play gently, rolling about roughhousing like a pup and chasing your fingers, nibbling gently if really excited. She plays with the other dogs as well. And, if for any reason Angel needs a different setting, she must be returned to me for alternative placement. I promised her I would watch over her.

All shots (the full battery, not just rabies) are current, she is on heartguard monthly and topical flea drops every 3-4 weeks. Her teeth may need to be cleaned though she gets them scraped regularly.
