My Story:
Have you seen a sweeter face than mine? I'm a baby, purebred blue heeler puppy CCHS is told, without papers. I'm just a darling, small boy who is looking for love! I came to CCHS at no fault of my own...the reason was I'm "too young & puppish" for my owner who got me expecting I'd be just like his old dog who died. We'll I'm not, i'm a happy, healthy, playful puppy who likes to chew, run & scractch legs when I jump up! It's the joy of owning a puppy basically!! I simply wasn't suitable for a man near 70 with health problems, and a mother who was on oxygen. Even though CCHS was beyond full, and blue heelers aren't always the most adoptable breed, they took me in or i'd have been shot that day. He said "if you don't take him today i'll have to shoot him because we don't want him and I have to work the fair this week".
Can anyone out there imagine such an adorable face of such an innocent 12 wk old puppy being killed at no fault of his own? He was acting like a typical puppy, yet almost lost his life because of it. Atari is beautifully marked, and even though a little shy at first, he warms up so fast and starts in with his puppy kisses & butt wiggle. Due to his herding breed, he is NOT suitable for a home with young kids as most often they are returned when their herding instinct kicks in. And little Atari certainly doesn't have to be a country, farm dog since with proper training, exercise & love he'll be a super pet for any situation!
