My Story

UPDATE: Athena's been adopted! Hopefully this sweet girl's found her forever home this time. Good luck, Athena!
Poor Athena is back at PHS because she didn't get along with the cat in her new home. PHS also feels that she needs a home with kids 8+ and no small dogs because she will try to herd them. PHS also thinks she's 8 yrs. old versus the 4-5 previously thought. Lets get her into her "forever" home for the holidays! Call us for more info., or contact PHS at 650-340-7022. You can also see a newer pic and their bio for her at www.peninsulahumanesociety.org :
Athena is a confident and healthy girl who has a cheerful disposition and is friendly to all. She looks like she could be a purebred Lapinporokoira (which is a Finnish herding dog)! She is about 4-5 years old (PHS thinks she somewhat older) and weighs 48 lbs. She likes to sit by people and watch the world pass by. She is calm and sweet; very well mannered and would make a nice mellow companion. She gets along well with her energetic kennel mate and is kind and patient with her. She is responsive to people and has a gentle soul. She is tolerant of being handled and we believe she would do well with children. She is unphased when her ears, back and feet are touched and listens well to people. This well behaved dog has one draw back, she needs a home without cats. She will not harm them but does enjoy the chase. Athena is a lovely dog looking for a caring family.
