UPDATE 3-08-07. This little girl is just the best doggie. She is very respectful, almost scared of, cats. She could easily integrate into a home with kitties. She is the ultimate kids dog. She is extremely tolerant of children of all ages and loves snuggling with and wrestling with children. She hates being outside, away from her people and can be quite vocal about it. She LOVES all other dogs, any shape, size or activity level is fine with her. She's everyone here's best friend.
In 2-21-07 Rescued in her final hour from our local kill shelter. Reportedly was a stray running at large with no ID or microchip. Nobody came looking for her. She was there for 6 days. A super sweet puppy, just 8 months old. O.k., I THINK she's a purebred from a local "puppy mill" type breeder in the area. BUT she could be a half Black and Tan Coonhound/Bloodhound cross, as some person was advertising a litter of those about 2 months ago as well. Age wise though, I think she's too old to be one of those. Size wise, she could be, as she's not enormous like a pb BH should be at age 8 months. BUT then again, this puppy mill I'm thinking of's dogs are on the small side. I had a male, in Rescue, from them two years ago, and he was on the smaller side for a BH. So, being a female, she very could well be a pb from this place. That said, this is an exceptional dog. Sweet as the day is long, housebroke, excellent with other dogs, only mildly interested in chasing the cat. Took a bath (to wash all the FLEAS off!!!!) like a champ. Very tolerant of nail trimming, ear cleaning, etc. She's in heat right now and will be spayed early next week. She will not be available to leave to her new home until this is completed, however, apply now, as I am certain she will go fast!
