My Story
Hi! My name is Baloo Loki. I’m a 1 1/2 year old lab mix, weighing around 50 pounds, and it looks like this is the biggest I’m going to get! I am neutered, am up to date on my shots, and I’m heartworm negative.
I’m a very joyful and energetic pup, and would love a family who is going to be able to give me the attention, exercise and training that I need. I absolutely LOVE to play fetch, tug, or really anything toy related. I can be hesitant with new people, but once I warm up to them you’ve got a friend for life. I also adore other dogs, but I can be territorial over food and toys sometimes. I’m obsessed with walks, so I’m sorry if I pull you. I have gotten a lot better about it, but I still need some work!
I am potty trained and crate trained. I’m also love cuddling and sleeping in the human bed with my human or on the floor in my own bed, if I am told to.

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt
**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).
The adoption fee for puppies covers initial deworming, puppy vaccinations, microchip, and spay/neuter at the rescue's approved vet at 6 months of age. Please see our website for more information.
2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250
For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq
*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
