We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.
Bambi, 10 months old, spayed female, Plot Hound/Mountain Cur mix (best guesses), currently 30 pounds so full grown will be in the medium range. We are not completely sure all the breeds that make up this pup, so your guess is as good as ours! She is in a foster home in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved.
Meet Bambi, an adorable and energetic pup with a heart full of love and curiosity. This young dog is still finding her way in the world, and with a little patience and training, she’s sure to become a wonderful companion.
Bambi loves to play with other dogs and has a high-energy play style. She's eager to make friends and engage in friendly play, although she sometimes plays a bit hard. She’s smart enough to pick up on cues when another dog wants to stop playing and has had positive interactions with dogs her size, like beagles and Jack Russell beagle mixes. When meeting new dogs, she starts off nervous but quickly warms up and becomes friendly. She recently went to a dog park and made friends with everyone there!
We have no history with cats. Bambi has shown that she can be nervous and timid around children at first. However, once she gets to know them, she becomes friendly. We recommend a home with kids who understand and respect animal boundaries.
Walking on a leash is a bit of a challenge for Bambi. She tends to freeze and throw herself on the floor, showing she’s confused and needs some leash training. She also pulls on the leash, so she'll benefit from a patient handler to help her learn.
Bambi isn’t fully housebroken yet and tends to pee when she’s excited or nervous. She’s been crated and does well as long as there’s nothing in the crate with her. If there’s a bed inside, she might have accidents. The longest she’s been crated is overnight.
Bambi is an active pup who needs regular walks, playtime, and plenty of attention. She’s best suited for an active home that can provide outdoor activities and ample playtime. She doesn’t necessarily need another dog in the home to keep her company. However, it would be important for her to be around other dogs to maintain her positive social manners.
Bambi is an independent, timid, and nervous pup who transforms into a playful, smart, and silly dog once she gets comfortable. She loves being petted and is very affectionate. She enjoys playing with toys and is curious about everything around her. When meeting strangers, she tends to be timid and nervous, often freezing and keeping her distance before hiding behind her foster momma. Once given some time, she will approach new people with a wagging tail.
Bambi has a unique and adorable habit of leaping like a deer from the grass to the top of the porch, completely disregarding the stairs. Bambi would thrive in a home with children who can play with her daily or an active person who enjoys taking her to parks and on hikes. She needs a family that can provide her with the attention and playtime she craves.
Bambi needs a patient family as she’s still a puppy. She has a habit of jumping when being fed and nibbling on hands or legs when walking. Despite these quirks, she’s very loving once she trusts you. Bambi is a sweet and energetic pup looking for a loving home where she can grow and thrive. With a bit of training and a lot of love, she’s sure to become a loyal and cherished member of your family.
