Introducing Banana Joe! This sweet little Jack Russel mix came to us from our rural shelter partner. Sadly this boy was amongst a sea of other dogs and was in one of the offices of a staff member. Euthanasia's are taking place due to being woefully overcrowded so we stepped up to get this little man out of there! Banana Joe was understandably terrified being in the shelter. At just 18 whole little pounds, this boy is dainty & hearing all the barking and commotion made him shake in his boots! Since coming to CHS he has started to relax. He really enojoys his lady pals. He does well with slow intros with other dogs as he is still so scared from being in the shelter. He needs a family who is willing to patient with him as he acclimates to a new environment. Banana Joe just needs to see that where he is is safe and he comes out of his shell pretty quickly. He has become my shadow and will follow me just about anywhere. He does not mind being picked up and is so so so happy when its cuddle time. Banana Joe is quiet in his crate and uses it as his safe space.
