Our Volunteers use up valuable time answering questions, when the answers are readily available on our website. Our adoptions come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. We are a foster-based rescue. We do not have a facility. MEET & GREETS FOR DOGS IN ONTARIO WILL ONLY BE ARRANGED ONCE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IS APPROVED. THANK YOU!!! Please visit our website for more information: https://www.niagaradogrescue.com/ or fill in our adoption application: https://niagaradogrescue.com/adoption-application.php OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found. As a result, when we received him, he was very underweight, was heartworm positive, needed medical attention and a trusting person. It didn’t take long before he warmed up to the other dogs in his foster home, became house trained and was hiking and swimming off leash without incident. Over time, he’s become very attracted to children to the point that I now walk him (on-leash) daily as he’s likely to be distracted by the sounds of children playing and wants to join in with them. Bandit is a very loving and smart animal who simply wants your love and time. He barks if someone knocks on the door and occasionally communicates with other dogs in the neighborhood. When dog snacks are given out, Bandit patiently waits his turn and has never been food aggressive to other dogs. He will sneak and eat the cat’s food if it’s accessible lol. Bandit’s not a “licker” and typically only gives out kisses as a “Thank You” when receiving physical attention or praise. Bandit did well with the heart worm treatments, is perfectly healthy and up to date with all immunizations. We believe Bandit can remember what a terrible life he had at one time as he now thrives on affection and praise from making you happy. Bandit is a fantastic animal and deserves a very loving and fairly active owner(s). Although he enjoys being pampered, he’s always ready to go for a walk, hike, swim, play with a ball, etc. He loves playing chase with other dogs and has a great temperament when off leash. Bandit is great with our indoor cat but may chase a neighbor’s outdoor cat if he has the opportunity. Bandit thrives on interacting with you and making you happy. He’s a true companion and will always be your best friend!
