My Story

Meet Bandit. Bandit was adopted by a family from a breeder back when he was around 6 weeks old. He is now 6 months old and the family could no longer care for him. They were unprepared for the responsibilities that came with owning a blue heeler and got overwhelmed and gave up on him. They asked for our rescue's help and we were more than happy to do so. Bandit is a full blooded blue heeler. If you are educated and experienced with the breed, you know that he is high energy. He is extremely active and can go on a 5 mile walk or jog with no problem. He could probably do more if you wanted to! Bandit LOVES other dogs. He loves to play fetch and tag with his foster siblings. His favorite toy is his tennis balls and his herding balls. He is very dog friendly and hasn't met a stranger. Bandit has lived with a cat from the time he was 6 weeks old up until recently. He enjoyed playing with the cat and respected the cat's space when she didn't want to play anymore. Bandit LOVES the water. If you go camping near a lake, if you like going to the beach, or if you have a pool- he would be in heaven. This dog loves to swim and loves playing in the water. Looking for an adventure buddy? Bandit is your guy! He loves car rides so much, he likes to ride shot gun! Wherever you want to go, he wants to go with you! Bandit is crate trained and house trained. He can be crated at night, or he would love to sleep in bed with you. He is also very treat motivated. He knows how to sit, spin, lay down. He could probably learn more if treats are involved! He is very smart and easy to train! He walks well on the leash. Some times he can be pully when he is excited, but he is still only 6 months old and will get better with age and a routine. Bandit is good with children, but older children who understand high energy dogs and who can respect boundaries are recommended with this breed. Bandit would love a home of his own who understand blue heelers and their energy requirements. He would do well in a home with an active family, one who enjoys going on walks, camping trips, jogs, anything outdoors! His previous family didn't know what to expect when they adopted him, but we are hoping his new family will love and accept him and give him an amazing happy ending he deserves. Bandit is being fostered in Houston Texas, but transport nationwide is available. Our adoption fee covers transport costs so you pay no additional costs to have him transported to join your family!
