Meet Bando! (case #07-17-363-01B) Bando came into the shelter with 3 other adult dogs and two pups as an unclaimed held in trust. He is an American Bulldog mix and is about 1 year old. Bando is a very quiet dog who is slowly learning to enjoy the company of staff here. It appears he has not had much exposure to anything. Further socialization in a positive environment would be helpful to build confidence in this sweet boy. Bando avoided other dogs during our assessment and required encouragement to approach the other dog. This boy needs to be exposed to other dogs in a positive, controlled environment to help bring out his confidence and help him learn how to play. Obedience classes are a great way to expose him to new people and dogs where they can learn to be around each other and also have an opportunity for supervised play. He has also not had much, if any, exposure to small animals or cats so a home without any is advised at the present time. This active boy will need plenty of adventures and opportunities for exploration. He will require both mental and physical stimulation to expend his energy and keep her curious mind engaged. A fully fenced yard is recommended to keep her safe and out of trouble and to also to allow her to run and play.
