Keep reading to learn more about Miss Barbara Jean… (The good part): Barbara Jean is Sanctuary Rescue's golden girl. She is as sweet as pie and has a heart of gold. We aren't sure her exact age but as an older dog she likes to take things slow and enjoys every minute of it. Her favorite things ever are peanut butter, salmon treats, and being outside in the sunshine. She get's a lot of pep in her step when it's time to go outside believe it or not and she's housetrained! Barbara Jean is great with other dogs, but due to her old bones and unsteady footing, she does best with polite, calm dogs that understand she can't wrestle and play like she used to back in the day. She's at the stage in life where she'd rather hang out, coexist, and nap with her canine companions. Barbara Jean has an old injury to her front leg, and arthritis in her hips. She is currently on arthritis medication and Librela, both of which tremendously help her feel much more comfortable in her golden years. Due to the old injury in her front leg, Barbara is not able to go up or down stairs on her own, although she sure does try. Her front leg just cannot support her and usually results in a tumble - so our senior princess must be carried up or down stairs. Since landing in a Sanctuary Rescue foster home, Barbara Jean has received lots of love, comfy bedding, tons of treats and has made many new friends.
