Barney came to the shelter as a stray. Because of his age and health, he could not be neutered. He takes special food to keep him healthy. Barney enjoys running and jumping around in a fenced yard. He gets along with other dogs and is best with a confident pack leader to demonstrate leash walking. He responds well to assertive verbal commands. Barney also loves car rides. A harness would be ideal when walking on trails and around the neighborhood. Barney is crate trained and enjoys this safe space. He was fostered for a short time and did well with a small child and young pit bull. During his time at the shelter, he has a comfy bed and is loved on by staff and volunteers who walk him and let him run around the dog park. But, he would love a full time forever home where he can be your full time companion.
