Barney was a stray in a small town without a shelter. No one claimed him so Waverly Pet Rescue took him in so they wouldn't have to put him down. He is now up-to-date on shots, tested heartworm negatve, and neutered.

Barney is a 2-year-old redbone coonhound that weighs around 50 pounds. He should weigh more but he is quite thin, even for a coonhound. Barney is working on his housetraining and is crate trained. He loves attention! Barney does not jump but he loves to play with other dogs. He is very sweet and kind hearted. Barney gets along with other dogs and he does well with kids of all ages. Barney is learning to live with cats. He is trained to hunt so he tries to "tree" the cats. Barney should have a fenced in yard or a form of containment because he can easily get his nose to the ground and catch a scent. He is a really good boy and wants someone to devote his life to!

Will someone please adopt Barney and give him a forever home? $75.00 adoption fee. (vet bill came to almost $200 but will keep the adoption fee low at $75)

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501 C 3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter yet. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to Email Waverly Pet Rescue at the bottom of this page. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
