My Story

Basil is a tall graceful hound rescued from West Virginia. He has been fostered by a very talented trainer and has proven to be an excellent student. He walks like a gentleman on a leash, gets along with his foster furry brother and two cats. He is energetic and loves long walks and time outside. He has also been trained to walk on a treadmill. He loves to be with people of all ages. At a recent event with many dogs, kids and adults Basil was a delightful, polite and well mannered guest greeting everyone with a wagging tail. Basil is about 1 1/2 years old and 70 lbs, has been neutered and is up to date with all of his vaccinations.

This organization is run by volunteers only and we try our best to save as many homeless pets as possible. Since there are only a few volunteers, please understand that we are unable to answer phone calls about the animals. The first step is to fill out an adoption application which you can find on the Pet Rescue website: www.ny-petrescue.org and we will contact you as soon as possible, usually within 5 days. Pet Rescue doesn't have a shelter where you can come and meet the dogs. All showings are by appointment after your application has been approved. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] .

If you would like to sponsor a dog, please go to our home page at www.ny-petrescue.org. To sponsor the vet care of a dog, we need $100; to sponsor the transport of a dog, we need $25. Partial sponsorship is always appreciated.
