My Story

Born 8/2006, Baxter is one of the oddest looking dogs to come through our shelter. His head looks like a Dachshund, his body like a Basset. He has short stubby legs, and a tail that wags pretty much nonstop. Baxter was adopted from us about 3 years ago & moved to the Grand Forks area. There was a divorce and he was left with the husband, who recently took him to the Grand Forks Humane Society, telling them that the dog was a stray. The ex-wife found out about it & paid the fees at the Grand Forks shelter, then brought him to us. We have always asked people to return animals they adopted from us to us if there is a reason they can no longer keep the pet. Baxter is wonderful with other dogs. He likes to run full throttle through the building & yard at our shelter. He handles well on a leash. He did nip at a young child in his former home who was treating him roughly, otherwise he's great with pretty much everybody. Adopt Baxter today! Not only do you get a new best friend, but you'll never run out of small talk with the neighborss!
