Hi everyone! Are you looking for an outgoing, playful and affectionate companion? If so, look no further than Baxter! Baxter is a 25 lb, 2 year old Schnauzer. He tested positive for heartworms when he was rescued but has since been treated. He enjoys making new friends, both human and canine, and is always up for a good time. Baxter does, however, do better with older children who tend to learn more boundaries when it comes to dogs and their space. Our boy can get a little feisty with dogs his size in the beginning but with the proper training, will learn to live with them. He currently lives with 9 other dogs, both his size and larger, with no issues. In his foster home, Baxter has mastered the art of living in a home and is kennel trained and mostly house trained. Baxter keeps to himself when inside but does like to roam around with the other dogs when in the outdoors.
Baxter is being fostered in La Feria, TX and will make the trip to the east coast for the right adopter. Please submit an application via our website, anassafehavenrescue.org. **Transportation cost is included in his adoption fee.**
