My Story

Bear is a 130# cuddlebug that came to our rescue in 9/09. He was born 9/07 and was surrendered by a breeder who could no longer care for him (we do not have access to his pedigree). Bear is a friendly newfie that loves casual walks and playing with other dogs. He is very people orientated and loves attention, you won't find him far from his new owner. Bear does great with other dogs and has been known to chase a few felines in his day. However because he is so eager to please, this is something that could probably very easily be corrected with some time and consistency. He's food motivated, knows sit, and is crate trained. Bear sometimes get intimidated while he's in his crate and needs a strong owner to provide him with a confident lead to follow. We do not know if Bear was with children in his previous home however he did pass his "child test" at the shelter.

Because of Bear's size, his adoption fee is $350 with $50 returned if you attend a training class with him within 4 months of adoption. It costs our shelter more to feed him, provide heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and it cost more to have him neutered. We want you take the extra cost of owning a big dog into consideration.
