Beau

***Meet Beau, a 2 year old boxer mix, 52#. Beau is in our sanctuary program. We will consider adoption applications from individuals who have experience and training in animal behavior*** He will be available for adoption to a special home who is dog-savvy. Beau requires a special home with experienced caregivers who can understand and accommodate his needs, particularly his fearful tendencies. Beau requires a quiet, patient environment and would likely do best in a home without children or a lot of visitors. He is selective with other dogs and may do well in a home without other pets, or with a smaller, low-key, and laid-back dog. Introductions to new pets or people would need to be done slowly. Beau has some issues with resource guarding behavior around food and is making progress in building trust with humans. He likely was not socialized at all, and does need further work with jumping up and mouthing. He is very strong on the leash and will require a no pull harness. Beau will need a committed potential adopter who can continue working with him, providing the tools and training necessary for his success. He is housetrained and crate-trained.
