My Story

PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION IN THE DOG'S PROFILE, AS WELL AS THE INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE BEFORE EMAILING US WITH QUESTIONS. Our Volunteers use up valuable time answering questions, when the answers are readily available on our website. Our adoptions come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. We are a foster-based rescue. We do not have a facility. MEET & GREETS FOR DOGS IN ONTARIO WILL ONLY BE ARRANGED ONCE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IS APPROVED. THANK YOU!!! Please visit our website for more information: https://www.niagaradogrescue.com/ or fill in our adoption application: https://niagaradogrescue.com/adoption-application.php Name: Bella (20240220-01) Weight: 80 lbs Age: 3 years Gender: Female Spayed/Neutered: Yes Medical issues: IBS Breed: Shepherd Mix Colour: Black and Tan Neck size (for collar): Height (from top of head): Length (from nose to base of tail): Crate size recommended: Good with women: Yes Good with men: Yes Good with kids: Yes, older kids recommended due to her size Good with other dogs: Yes Good with cats: No House trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Energy level: Moderate Can be handled/touched: Yes Barker: Yes, she loves to talk! Bella does well with other dogs, people and children. Due to Bella’s size we would recommend no toddlers. Bella is a calm girl who loves to hang out. The kennel where Bella resides believes that Bella may be a purebred based on her features and her ears. As she is a rescue we cannot confirm this. Bella came to us with some tummy issues, but since we’ve had her she has been on sensitive stomach food and has had no issues since. We recommend that she stay on sensitive stomach food to ensure her tummy stays in good health. Bella is good on a leash, but is strong, so some leash training would be good. She listens well and enjoys car rides without any issues. German Shepherd experience would be a plus but isn’t necessary. We hope that Bella soon finds her forever home as she is such a sweet soul and deserves a family of her own to love. Comments from an NDR volunteer: I have spent 2 full days with Bella and she is a true sweetheart. She is a truly amazing dog that easily goes to new people and manages our events with other dogs with ease. We spent a full day at a dog event and she was fantastic. She took my lead throughout the day and loved playing with my foster puppy. Bella is a beautiful German shepherd and I think she will make an amazing family dog.
