My Story

Hello - I'm Bella Louise - I would love to meet you! I get very excited to meet everyone - my whole body wiggles, and I do a little hop thingie because I'm so happy to meet people. I used to live in Alabama, but my family surrendered me to a shelter. I was very sad, but quickly showed everyone at the shelter what a GOOD GIRL I am. They let me roam the office space and hang out with the workers while the other dogs were in kennels. Not to brag, but not every dog can do that - I've gotten along with every dog and cat and person I've met! I came up to Minnesota to find my forever home. I do great in a kennel, and when I get out, I love attention - I love pets, going for walks, chewies and playing fetch! I'm quite playful and fun! I recently learned that I have heartworm disease, which is treatable, but it will put a damper on my fetch fun, at least for a while. I also have a funky knee, which does not bother me or slow me down at all, and we are learning how best to support it. I hope these little bumps don't stop people from seeing what an amazing companion I will be. I've been through a lot, but I know my best years are ahead of me, and I have so much love and fun to give. I know that my forever family is out there... is it you? Bella Louise is Heartworm positive and is waiting for a negative test result which can take 2-9 months after treatment. Her treatment has been completed and she will need a Heartworm test every 2 months to follow up on her treatment progress until she has a negative result. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high energy play or exercise. Bella Louise will also need continued use of monthly Heartworm prevention going forward. These medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. -------------------------------------------- All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner. Adoption Fee - $475 To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/
