Belle is approximately 8-9 years old in these pictures taken February 7, 2010. She was found by one of LP's volunteers lying next to a busy road. It was rainy and cold out. Luckily, Belle was just wet and cold. She was big and pregnant but lost the babies.
The foster mom says that she gets along well with all of her dogs except she doesn't seem to really like being around the small one for some reason. Belle isn't aggressive towards the dog, just seems to prefer being with the larger dogs. However, it doesn't matter what the size or the age of the human, she loves them all.
Belle is a real snuggler and wants to be with her person(s). Her foster parents say that she sleeps with them and their other dogs in bed. She is afraid of new people at first but warms up to you after a few days. New surroundings frighten her too. We believe this comes from being dumped and on her own for who knows how long. Poor girl probably thinks she is going to be out on the streets again when she goes someplace new.
Belle does not have any food aggressions. Does well on a leash and is housebroken. She doesn't like riding in the care much.
On October 17, 2009, Belle was tested for Heartworms/Lyme/Ehrlichia and given her rabies. She is on HW preventative
