BELLE

Belle is a sweet, smart-as-a-whip, young German Shepherd! She can be shy around strangers and started out with some noise sensitivity. We've been working on exposure to the many sounds of the city and upping her courage game. But, when you've gained her trust, she will puddle at your feet for belly rubs and lean against your legs just like a cat! * Potty trained - no accidents - yay! * Easy on a leash (has prey drive, so leash around your wrist, please) - Belle takes her squeaky toy with her on our walks. * Very treat and praise motivated (emphasis on praise...and attention - LOVES it!). Knows how to catch airborne treats. * Loves to play in the yard with her toys - and she's a toy hoarder! * Very smart - learned how to load up in an SUV with 3 treats. * Commands: Sit, Come, Down, Paw (both paws), No, Off, Wait, Leash on/off, Place (on a Kuranda bed) - currently working on Stay. Belle will need her new owner to continue her training on a daily basis. * LOVES, LOVES, LOVES pets and will paw you for more - belly rubs are her jam! * She is not a fan of the crate, but has not been destructive (other than cardboard boxes for her entertainment & enrichment). She does have lots of appropriate chew items, exercise, and mental stimulation to keep her from getting bored. * Does have prey drive for bunnies, squirrels, and birds, so a home without cats is recommended. * Does howl when she hears storm warning sirens, police car sirens, or ambulance sirens (I live near a hospital), so may not be well suited for apartment living.
