My Story

Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet and greet with you and Ben. Ben is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up. Meet Ben! Ben was found wandering in a neighborhood. A kind woman took him in and posted him all over in hopes of finding his family. Someone came forward and said they recognized Ben and he belonged to a neighbor who had recently passed away. We were so sad for this good boy, so we took him in and promised to find him a loving family. Ben is estimated to be a 3-4 year old male Rottweiler mix. He's fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready to find a family to call his own. Ben currently weighs 65 pounds. Ben is a gentle boy to everyone he meets! He's been to numerous events with the rescue group and everyone always falls in love with how well behaved he is and his gentle demeanor. Ben is extremely dog friendly and loves playing with other dogs. We would say he has a medium energy level. He enjoys playing with his doggie foster siblings, but will also happily snuggle up on the couch for some netflix. Ben is cat friendly! While he doesn't live with cats, we tested him out with cats in another foster home and he didn't pay attention to them at all. He completely left them alone and went about his business. Ben is kid friendly! He's been around children ages 1 year to 13 years and he's great with everyone. He's a gentle boy. Ben walks great on a leash! He get excited at first and will pull just a little, but he definitely settles down quickly and walks calmly with a loose leash. Ben is the perfect dog if you're looking for an adventure buddy because he's SO well behaved. He's been to outdoor markets and breweries for events and he's always the perfect gentleman. Ben is fully potty trained and crate trained. He goes into the crate while his foster mom is away from the home for work or errands. Since Ben's foster mom has multiple dogs in her home, she feeds everyone in their crate. We would suggest continuing to do this for Ben. Here's a small blurb about Ben from his foster mom: Ben is such a sweet boy with the most friendly personality! He's very affectionate and LOVES his people. His "spot" is just below his ear on his neck. Once you scratch that spot, he'll affectionately lean into you. It's so cute! He's very friendly and has been to multiple events! He's always on his best behavior and loves making new friends (especially if it means they'll give him head scratches and belly rubs)! He enjoys cuddles on the couch and playing tug-o-war. He does well in the car too. He mostly just lays in the backseat. Occasionally, he'll try to come in the front seat, but will listen if you tell him "No Ben".
