Intake date 23 March 2024 . 1 year old, red and white, smooth coated border collie . Ben came to us from a business partner when he decided that swimming was not for him. At least not right now :) . Ben is a lovely gentleman who gets along well with other dogs, and so far, has not met a human he doesn't like once properly introduced. . Ben is crate trained, walks reasonably well on leash, and while bright and eager, really needs someone looking for a partner as it seems Bob has always been one of a pack, and has not had the opportunity to truly connect to a partner. . Ben will do best in a home where someone is looking for a constant companion, humans that enjoy training and sharing the world with their pup. Ben is currently reactive to cats and small animals, so will only be offered to a home with cats with humans who have a serious plan for training and conditioning a dog to small animals -- he has never done harm, but he will bark. .Ben has shown some mild separation anxiety in one living situation and it is strongly suggested that he have a ruffland kennel in his home.. This dog is located in Maryland - we do not ship or transport dogs. For information on adoption, an FAQ, and our application, please see our website at mabcr.org. If you are interested in adoption, please submit an application, complete with documentation. . Dogs that have not lived previously with children will not be offered to homes where young children reside. We do not 'test' dogs with children or cats, since testing here will not show an accurate picture, and may give potential adopters false comfort. If a dog has lived with children or cats, that will be stated above. We do not place dogs as ESA, nor will we place a dog as hypo-allergenic. Applicants interested in adoption of a potential service dog must be working with an experienced trainer. . Please note that some young dogs may be placed with an alter deposit and contract, and any available dog of any age may be placed with a training deposit and contract -- this would be noted on offer, prior to placement. For additional information on these policies, please see our website. . Questions about dogs are generally not answered here due to lack of staffing. All available dogs may not be listed on our website due to time constraints and does not effect a specific dog's availability. Additional information and photos will be posted here as time permits.
