Benji

Benji is the most 8-9 month old resilient pup that you ever did meet. This cross eyed little guy has been through countless medical obstacles, from distemper, to pneumonia, to a dislocated leg and a serious leg surgery, and more—yet you’d never once have realized as much when you met him. None of his past affects his ability to play and love one bit. As an exemplar of the Velcro dog, Benji loves shnuggles and must have eyes on his humans at ALL times; good luck sneaking out of a room when he’s asleep! He has already mastered sit, down, and “wait,” and is making great progress on, “gentle,” when receiving treats. His rough start to life has made him a bit timid, but his foster family reports he has made progress in leaps and bounds in the confidence department. For example, he now loves saying hi to every human and canine that passes by, but does still get startled by sudden noises and things like roller luggage. Benji doesn’t have an interest in chasing squirrels and birds, so while we haven’t seen him with cats, he would likely be non confrontational with felines as well. Benji will need a bit of training on not going potty in the home, which only happens when he feels he is being ignored, and, in classic hound fashion, he also needs to grow out of his howling phase! This sweet boy has a LOT of love to give, and will steal your heart in seconds when you see his floppy legs and ears bound up to you! Benji is UTD on all vaccines and also neutered.
